Lynmouth & Lynton |
| In a stunning combination of Lynton with its high rugged cliffs and Lynmouth with its harbour and bay they offer a variety of interests for the visitor. Lynton and Lynmouth are situated next door to each other but with one difference - 500 feet! The villages were popular resorts with the Victorians who would visit by the railway, which once serviced the North Devon coast from Barnstaple. They named the area 'Little Switzerland of England' due to the quiet charm of the pretty villages and cliffs. Nestling beneath the cliffs, the pretty harbour of Lynmouth is a romantic escape from modern day living with its row of fishing cottages tumbling down the street towards the quay and the distinctive Rhenish Tower |
